Southern California born and raised, Nancy Lynn paints in a style which reflects the vibrancy and energy of her beloved sun-drenched southwestern desert, with its myriad of ever-changing colors and sentinel of snow-capped mountains.
Nancy graduated from California State University Northridge, with an emphasis on two-dimensional fine art, and has been creating captivating paintings ever since.
Nearly every day, she packs her paints and brushes, and heads off on remote desert back roads in search of a vista to recreate on canvas in her distinctive “Nancy Lynn” style. Although her works are plein air, they have a passionate vitality and abstract impressionism which elevates them above the typical “open air” genre.
Yet with all the energy her works exude, there is an intriguing, peaceful sense of order and feeling of déja-vu in Nancy Lynn’s paintings.
Nancy likens her working process to that of one writing a musical symphony, “I compose as I go – balancing forms….balancing colors – so the finished painting has a complete sense of harmony.”
